Once we entered Montana, it began to feel real that we were nearing the west coast! The straight flat roads of South Dakota started to wind up and down mountains. Stopping in Missoula was one of Olive's favorite destinations because she got to see some puppy friends, meet horses up close for the first time, and play in a river! Missoula was a much needed break after the long hours in the car. We were able to visit my good friend Jennifer and stay in her lovely mountain home. It was great to stretch our legs by the Clark Fork River, visit a downtown brewery for dinner, and eat some homemade huckleberry ice cream while catching up!

After Missoula, the final leg of our journey was ahead of us. It had been such a whirlwind few months that it didn't yet feel real that we would be on a plane flying to Japan in a few days! Once we crossed the Columbia River in Washington, we knew we were getting close!

In Seattle, we had to finish Olive's vet paperwork, pack our suitcases for the flight (somehow fitting all of our souvenirs), and ensure that all of our logistics were ready to go. We spent most of our day exploring the Pike Place Market, which was very unique and obviously a must see. On our last day, we were able to meet up with some Kingsville ladies, Jessica and Morgan, and their new little babies. It was so great to be able to reunite!
On Wednesday, July 27th, our long journey to Japan began at 1am!
